    Find a dentist

Unlike with a GP practice, NHS Kent and Medway is unable to allocate patients to a dentist.

Some dentists provide a mixture of NHS and private care. If you are unsure what services your dentist provides, please ask the practice. If you do not have a regular dentist, you can find a dentist via  Find a dentist.

Do you need urgent treatment?

A dentist can carry out treatment such as fillings or root canal treatment, if you need it. Regular attendance is important to maintain oral health with treatment provided as required.

If you need urgent dental treatment:

  • phone your regular dentist, if you have one
  • contact any dentist convenient for you to travel to: All dentists in Kent and Medway are now offering urgent dental appointments
  • if out of hours and you cannot wait for the next day, phone Dentaline Out of Hours on 01634 890300, Monday to Sunday from 6 to 11pm and Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays from 8.30am to 1.30pm and reopening 6pm to 11pm.

If you need urgent dental appointment, please make this clear when you speak to the dental receptionist; this is so you are seen in a timely manner, and the dental practice knows how to code the appointment.

Please be aware that you may need to contact several dental practices to find one with an available urgent appointment.
