Have your say about IVF and fertility services
NHS Kent and Medway is reviewing IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) and ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) services to make sure support is fair, effective and meets future needs.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our survey and share their experiences and views on NHS-funded IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) and ICSI services (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection). We recognise that fertility treatment is a deeply personal and often emotional topic, and we are grateful to all those who contributed.
Between November 2025 and end January 2026, NHS Kent and Medway reviewed the provision of IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) and ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), which are special medical treatments that help people have a baby. Your feedback has played an important role in helping us understand what matters most to people.
What we heard:
Many of you told us how important access to fertility treatment is, the impact of travel and waiting times, and the need for fair and clear eligibility criteria. We also heard about the emotional impact of infertility and the value of support throughout the process.
What happens next:
We carefully considered this feedback alongside clinical evidence, advice from healthcare professionals, and what is currently offered in other parts of the country. While we have had to make difficult decisions to ensure services remain sustainable for the future, your views have helped shape how these changes will be implemented — including the need for clear communication, fairness, and appropriate support for those affected.

We will continue to work with our partners to make sure people are supported with care, compassion, and clear information.
