Kent and Medway Insight Bank sharing agreement and responsible use of the Insights Bank
Sharing agreement - please read this before submitting or making use of information in the Insight Bank.
The Insight Bank is a hub of local and national sources of information and insight from and about people and communities in Kent and Medway.
This sharing agreement has been developed to ensure the integrity of the Insight Bank. Please read this document before submitting or making use of information within the Insight Bank.
Process for submitting insight
All submitted items are validated by a member of the communications and engagement department before they become public. This includes a check for any personal identifiable information. See statement on 'How Your Data Is Used' within the Insight Bank.
We do not routinely make changes to the items uploaded onto the Insight Bank, however if an insight needs to be edited or removed please contact the communications and engagement department: kmicb.engagecomms@nhs.net.
To submit insight, complete this form and upload the item.

The insight bank is primarily for information about and belonging to people in Kent and Medway. Information can be submitted which originates outside of Kent and Medway if it is relevant to our communities. This might include information about a community, or insight about the areas prioritised by Kent and Medway partners such as improving health inequalities for children.
The insight bank is for partners in the Kent and Medway integrated care system to avoid duplication, to learn from others, and to improve health and care. Not all insight in the Insight Bank has already been published. We accept insight which is not in the public domain if it has been anonymised before it is submitted.
Insight will not be accepted which includes any personal identifiable information.
What should not be uploaded onto the Insight Bank
- any information that identifies a specific person including name or address
- performance and intelligence data
- population health management data
- Equality Impact Assessments and Quality Impact Assessments.
Responsible use of the information in the Insight Bank
Please be aware that the resources contained within this bank are from diverse communities and collected in many ways. We want all partners to be able to share insight so that we can better understand the views and experiences of our communities and this needs to be done in a respectful and appropriate way. We also need to acknowledge those people and organisations who have gathered and shared the insight.
When using or referring to information from this Insight Bank:
Do:
- Include the author(s) and/or the organisation or group who gathered or brought together this insight.
- Be respectful of the communities involved - refer to them as they have requested within the insight.
- Include the date the insight was collected - views, opinions and experience may change.
Do not
- Make assumptions about the insight collected by other organisations or communities - even when some characteristics are shared, experience and views may be different in another setting or location.
- Use insight without considering how and why it was collected in the first place - the methods used to collect insight may affect the views and experiences within the insight.
- Use the insight as a reason not to go out and gather insight from communities where appropriate - the Insight Bank is not a substitute for engaging with local people
· The insight bank is based on sharing information as widely as possible and on building trust with our communities. Please come back and tell us what you have done with the insight and share insights from your communities and about your services for others to view.
