Long Covid service
NHS Kent and Medway engaged with people in the region who had Covid-19 and experienced symptoms over a longer period of time and from family members and carers of people with Long Covid.
Long Covid services
The NHS wanted to use lived experience to further improve the assessment, support and rehabilitation services for people living with Long Covid.
What we did
A patient/public survey: We heard from more than 500 residents about what it is like to live with Long Covid and which services and support matter most.
The views helped shape the Post Covid Assessment Service, which was launched in May 2021.
A Long Covid Patient Reference Group was established. The group has been involved in designing services for people with Long Covid. For instance, the group told us there needs to be more ongoing contact for patients as well as an assessment process.
