Where to go for help
Although the NHS will be busy while we respond to the outbreak, it is important that you get the right help when you need it.
People should continue to use NHS services as normal - please attend appointments unless you are contacted - but use services appropriately. If you have a non-meningitis issue and you don't know where to go, use NHS 111.
If you have symptoms you should call 999 or attend an A&E department.
If you have been a close contact of someone who has meningitis, for instance live in the same house as someone who has a confirmed infection, you can contact the helpline for advice.
Phone the helpline on 0344 225 3861 , Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, if you have no symptoms but are concerned you have been in contact with a confirmed case or have a general enquiry.
If you are trying to find your vaccination record, try the NHS App in the first instance. Your GP practice will be able to tell you, but they might be very busy at the moment.
