In Kent and Medway, Dynamic Support Arrangements (DSA) are in place to support autistic people and/or those with a learning disability whose mental health needs are causing concern to them, their families, or their support teams.

The DSA can support people with a confirmed diagnosis of autism; a learning disability or both - or for those who are on the pathway for an autism assessment, who…

  • are open to support services such as-
    • Social Care or Early Help
    • Children and Adult Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
    • Community Mental Health Team (CMHT- People 18 years and over)
  • at risk of:
    • A  person is at risk of going to mental health hospital
    • services are breaking down and struggling to improve things for things for the person.
    • The person is at risk of involvement from the police or the criminal justice system.

Consultation

A meeting with one of our professionals might be needed to make sure these services are right for you. 

They will also be a point of contact for you and your family to help you avoid admission to hospital or in settling back in the community after being in hospital.
